3 advantages of writing quality content for your school

Posted by John Igglesden

3 advantages of writing quality content for your schoolThere are an estimated 2.73 million blog posts written each day.

Just let that sink in. That is an enormous amount of content being uploaded every day, so it is easy to see how unimportant your one blog post can become. But don’t be despondent! Firstly, you are hardly competing with all the other blogs. There are a wide variety of topics that people blog about in a vast array of markets. Luckily for school marketers, far too many schools don’t have a regular blog so you are a step ahead. Regardless, you will still have to fight your way through the noise and clutter of the internet to be heard. You want your prospective parents to find your site first and one of the best ways you can do this is by writing quality content for your school.

So, what is quality content? Have you ever read a blog that just resonated with you? It likely had an engaging title, strong sub headings and eloquent language. Quality content will also have links to relevant information, won’t be long winded and bland and most importantly, won’t have any spelling or grammatical errors! For a deeper look into writing quality content, check out our blog: How to create quality inbound marketing content for your school.

Here are 3 advantages of writing quality content for your school:

  1. Increase your web traffic through search engine optimisation (SEO)
Google’s search engine algorithm will favour quality content over poorly written content. Quality content should be written with SEO in mind. This means it will be optimised for key words, links to your page, page views and the list goes on. The better optimised your content is the more traffic you will get, and that’s what we all want right? For more information on writing SEO friendly content, download our free ebook.

  2. Can position you as an industry influencer
Ever wonder how the speaker at the last marketing conference got asked to speak? They are likely an industry thought leader/influencer. A quick google search will probably confirm this. Consistently writing high quality content is one of the best ways to build your industry reputation and exposure. The better your content quality, the more likely you are to be found and shared amongst professionals in school marketing and industries alike. Thus, increasing your school’s exposure, reputation and finally enrolments.

  3. Increase brand awareness
Writing quality content not only improves your own reputation but the reputation of your school. Greater positive brand awareness for your school creates more incentives for prospective parents to send their children to your school as you are more well known and popular. Everyone has heard of Harvard and Oxford, they are well known for their top scholars. Especially within the marketing industry, the positive reputation of a marketing professional like you can draw attention to a school’s brand and attract more students to it.
