How to manage a successful photoshoot

Posted by Sarah Millinson on Thu, Jun 22, 2017

Coordinating a photoshoot is a great way to capture a broad selection of images for your firm’s future marketing communications. They will also refresh old media and can be implemented across a range of communications from your firm’s website, to advertising, promotional materials, publications and social media. Good images support new messaging and concepts, themes or campaigns, and make them come to life.

Organising a photoshoot can be very fun and exciting; an avenue to exercise your creative flair. However, it can also be very tiring, stressful and requires a great amount of planning and organisation.

How to craft a visual identity that supports your brand

Posted by Sarah Millinson on Tue, Apr 11, 2017

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover – but we often do. The way your brand looks, affects how your brand is perceived. If your brand’s visual identity doesn’t quite hit the mark, immediately you are under-selling your firm’s product or service on first impressions.

Your firm’s visual identity needs to support your brand personality and let your audience know who your firm is and what you stand for. It sets a tone and echo’s your firm’s values so it must be relevant, accurate and used consistently.

Here’s how to craft a visual identity that supports your brand:

Branded merchandise: how to make free stuff work for your firm

Posted by Brock Ashton on Tue, Mar 21, 2017

Branded merchandise can be a double-edged sword; on one hand you have a promotional item that can easily generate brand awareness and on the other, you risk wasting funds on a product that doesn’t align with your firm’s mission or the needs of your target audience. So just how can you ensure your branded merchandise provides a solid return on investment?

I remember attending O-Week during my first year of university and being slightly overwhelmed with all the stalls set up by clubs and societies, local businesses and not-for-profit organisations. One of the stalls was manned by a mental health foundation who were distributing stress balls to students.

At the time I didn’t really think anything of it – it was just a little yellow ball with a company logo and a website URL. It wasn’t until my first exam period rolled around that I started to use the stress ball and it became an extension of my left hand while my right was busy working on study notes.

Where to start with visual content marketing for your firm

Posted by Maclain Bruce on Sat, Nov 12, 2016

If you are a regular reader of imageseven’s blog you will know that content creation is a frequent theme. Whilst written text blog articles are an effective common practice, content creators need to constantly be thinking of different ways to present information so that audiences will take the time to view and absorb what you have to say. Visual content marketing is one such initiative.

As this previous blog explains, visual content marketing is the use of images, graphics and video to support or replace written content.

So, here are some suggestions on how to make a start with visual content marketing:

Use colour to produce better marketing results

Posted by Vanessa Klomp on Sat, May 07, 2016

I love colour.

Certain colours can make me feel happier while others can make me feel a little bit more serious. When I feel a little ‘down’ I prefer to wear something brighter.

How to attract a high calibre of talent to your firm

Posted by Brad Entwistle on Sat, Feb 06, 2016

It is widely known that a professional services firm's best asset is its talent ... its employees. So although recruiting the best can often be time consuming and costly, it does pay off in the longterm.

Do you know what your clients and prospects care most about?

Posted by Brad Entwistle on Sat, Jan 23, 2016

Do you know what your firm's story is? Moreover, does your team know? The first step to successful branding is ensuring that what you say and who you believe you are, is also how the market perceives you. It is therefore imperative that you and your team are clear on what that is before communicating it to the outside world.

Of course, your brand message portrays the best possible image of your firm but just because you say it’s true, doesn’t make it true. We often lose sight of what our brand actually is and how our market perceives it to be.

How to achieve consistent communications for your firm

Posted by Maclain Bruce on Sat, Aug 22, 2015

Despite the advent of the digital age, printed publications remain a major communications tool for marketing departments.

Perhaps you can mentally check off the various publications that sit within your own office or storeroom – the boxes of the latest brochure, flyers, annual reports or magazines.

A common issue that many professional services firms face is the fact that when placed across a table these various publications are often not consistent, or even worse, they don’t even look like they originate from the same organisation.

If this strikes a chord with you, here are some simple tips to bring your future publications into line and ensure brand alignment.
