From client to your best brand ambassador in 5 easy stepsYour hotel on your recent trip to the Philippines. The phone you’re using now. Or your newest concealer. Tell me how you made your last purchase.

At some point of your purchase decision, you listened to the words of someone you knew or followed who had previously used or bought the product/service before.

And why did this opinion matter so much more than that of any A-list celebrity?

It’s simple. Today’s consumers are screaming for authenticity and your clients are your best brand ambassadors.

Brand ambassadors converted from clients are real people that have tried and tested a product or service making them both credible and relatable. It’s these two qualities that consumers trust now more than ever.

So how do you go about creating brand ambassadors from your clients? Our 5 step solution will teach you.

  1. Get the fundamentals right: ensure you have a solid brand.
    It goes without saying, you need to have a base for your brand ambassadors to rave about. If your branding isn’t strong, consistent throughout all your messaging and if your own employees aren’t advocates for the brand, then you can barely expect your clients to be.

  2. Seek and select your subjects.
    Whilst you may have a slew of loyal and returning clients, this doesn’t mean that they can all become ambassadors. You need a client with a following that is not only a good fit for your brand, but will also be vocal about it. Find these select clients by monitoring social media pages and forums related to your brand.

  3. Create a community space for interaction.
    Engage your clients and make them feel special. A satisfied customer, who feels that his or her opinion is valued and appreciated, will be far more likely to be singing your praises. Engagement can take place in the form of VIP events, special offers and previews.

  4. Nurture these relationships.
    Keep engaging with these clients. At this point, they should not even consider any other brands to replace yours.

  5. Help your clients along this process: make it easy for them.
    We’re all time poor. Make the ambassador process easy for select clients by providing ‘share’ buttons for social media and asking for testimonials with questions to answer. A word of warning: be careful of doing too much and putting words into your ambassadors’ mouths – you want the experience to be authentic.
