Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Tue, Aug 01, 2017

It’s been years since you developed your marketing personas, and they have served you very well as the foundation of your online marketing strategy. 4 types of social media accounts that your firm needs to follow

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Sat, May 13, 2017

It’s tempting to follow thousands of social media users in hopes of getting followed back and increasing your social media network, but the repercussions of doing so can severely affect your business. There is a possibility that your social media feed will get oversaturated with posts, usually from fake accounts and follower bots, and you might miss important news, lessons, and announcements from relevant sources in your feed. Worst of all, your indiscriminate following might appear spammy to your clients, and this can tarnish your social media image.

Instead of aiming for quantity, it’s better for your firm’s social media to follow personalities and brands that can provide you with valuable content, which you can study and apply to your online marketing strategy. As an added incentive, you can even repost their content as part of your content curation strategy, thereby improving your social media credibility.

How your firm can escape a crisis

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Wed, Mar 22, 2017

All firms are vulnerable to a crisis, no matter how hard they may try to avoid it. It may begin internally from disgruntled employees, from the unethical tactics of your competition, or from unsatisfied clients. Wherever and whenever a crisis may appear, it’s always good to be prepared and address the crisis quickly to restore client goodwill and retain your firm’s reputation.

We often hear of horror stories of firms going through a crisis, and while some of them are doomed to fail, others skillfully escape from a crisis by publicly acknowledging the situation and craftily changing public opinion through a campaign. These firms are able to deal with the issues at hand due to a prompt and extensive assessment of the situation, a well-planned and actionable recovery strategy, and effective communication with clients.

5 social media marketing truths that you need to know

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Sat, Feb 04, 2017

I’m part of a band for quite some time now, and part of my role with the group involves a lot of social media marketing. Whenever I promote an upcoming gig through social media, I would make sure that my invites are exciting and interesting to get a lot of likes and shares. For me, getting those responses meant my posts were working well and reaching a lot of people. I would get fired up whenever people replied to my invites because it meant they were engaged.

We were once invited to play at a well-known local music festival, and as rookie musicians we were excited to perform in front of hundreds of people. We invited as many people as we could through social media, and hundreds of likes and dozens of shares later, we felt confident that the venue would be packed to the rafters. However when gig time came, only a few of our invitees came to the show. As we finished our drinks after our set, one of us wondered aloud why our social media posts didn’t work even though we received a positive response.

How to promote your business blog through social media (part 1)

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Thu, Feb 02, 2017

There are many ways to promote your business blog, but the most efficient way by far is through sharing on social media networks. There were 2.3 billion social media users in 2016, with an expected growth to 2.95 million users by 2020. There are many active users across different social media platforms at any given time, so delivering your content to a wider audience is as easy as attaching your blog URL to your social media posts.

Except it’s not as easy as it seems.

Millions of messages are posted across social media platforms each day, and your promotions can get lost in the clutter. Additionally, your competition is continuously finding ways to become the better online marketer, and your audience is always on the lookout for fresh content to read and share.

In order to get noticed by your audience, you will need to use more creative and effective ways to lead them to your blog. Here are some tried and tested methods on how to promote your business blog through social media.

6 important attributes of blog titles that work

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Tue, Dec 06, 2016

There is a bitter truth that we online marketers have to accept – blog entries are often judged on their titles alone. We can’t blame our readers for this, since they only have limited time to browse for topics that interest them. People filter their reading selections according to titles to save time and tend to other important tasks.

6 ways to write better blog titles for your firm

Posted by Geoffrey Macadaeg on Thu, Oct 06, 2016

After toiling for hours conducting research, writing content, and checking for errors, you’ve finally completed your blog entry on productivity checklist tools. There’s one task left that needs to be done – writing the title. After scanning your entry, you quickly create a summary, condense the summary into a title, and call it a day.

On the other side of town, a prospective client is looking for articles about productivity checklist tools – you’re in luck! Unfortunately, after scanning several blog titles, she gives up on her search. She saw your blog title a while ago, but she never bothered to click the link to your entry.
